Virtual reality (VR) replaces a person’s surroundings entirely with a computer-generated environment, experienced through a head-mounted display and designed to create the sensation of being physically present in that simulated world. Because nothing of the physical room remains visible, VR is the most fully immersive point on the XR spectrum.
